12 hands on cooking sessions Calling all young chefs! Tie on your aprons and get ready for some fun in the kitchen over the summer holidays! Your children will learn from our trained professional chef instructors. Together we’ll be exploring new and exciting food with a hand-on approach. Whats included? 12 sessions ( 3 times a week) Completion certificate All ingredients & equipment provided Butternut squash risotto and vegetable stock Pan seared fish and fish cakes Home made pies Vegetarian lasagna Burgers, mayo and relish Maltese tea time ( ottijiet, crustini and biskuttini) Cinnamon rolls and brioche loaf Cupcakes with creme patisserie Qarabaghli Mimli - Maltese style stuffed marrows Kapunata and poached fish Moussaka Pork chops, crunchy salad and jus What will my child be learning? Various cooking techniques The preparation of sweet & savoury dishes Better understanding of where food comes from The production and process of food Knife skills Kitchen hygiene Food safety How to prepare healthy balanced meals Sustainable food sourcing Is prior experience required? No prior experience is needed, are numbers in each group are kept low to give the necessary attention to each participant. How old does my child need to be? We welcome all junior chefs from age 8-14yrs. Will they get the chance to eat the food they’ve cooked? At the end of every session, your budding gourmands can sit down and nourish themselves on the food that they have prepared. Where will the session take place? The session will take place in our fully equipped, and air conditioned kitchen in Naxxar. How long is the session? 3hrs
